2025 NFL Picks Week 7: Think Less, Win More?
We still haven’t stumbled into our first winning week yet, but maybe thinking less about our options will yield better results as we get ready to travel with our almost-three year-old this weekend. Look, we’ll try anything at this point.
Cincinnati Bengals +5.5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are going to fall apart eventually, but I’m not sure this is the week against an atrocious Bengals’ defense and Joe Flacco. T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward should have no trouble pressuring a weak offensive line, and I think the big collapse is still a week or two away. Steelers -5.5
Jacksonville Jaguars +3 vs. Los Angeles Rams
I think this is our last London game, and the Jags are no stranger to traveling overseas. The bigger factor here, though, is that the Rams might be without Puka Nacua. His presence is too critical for me to take the Rams as favorites against another competent team. Jaguars +3
New York Jets +1.5 vs. Carolina Panthers
The Jets have to get their first win of the year eventually, and Carolina is considerably worse on the road than they have been at home. Jets +1.5
Cleveland Browns -3 vs. Miami Dolphins
The Browns are averaging just a shade under 14 points per game this season, so we just need 11 from the Dolphins to cover this spread. Dolphins +3
Chicago Bears -5.5 vs. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have been better than most projections coming into this season, but the bar was very low. Chicago should be able to limit Spencer Rattler at home. Bears -5.5
Tennessee Titans +7 vs. New England Patriots
Mike Vrabel has good reason to want revenge on his old team, and even a new coach in Tennessee isn’t enough to solve all of their problems. Patriots -7
Minnesota Vikings +1.5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
I know the Eagles have been bad, but really? Against Carson Wentz and/or J.J. McCarthy? Eagles -1.5
Kansas City Chiefs -12.5 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Rashee Rice is back on the field and the Chiefs are starting to cook with gas, while the Raiders almost let Brian Callahan’s Titans back in the game last week. Chiefs -12.5
Los Angeles Chargers -2 vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Chargers have no real home field advantage to speak of, and while they’re getting healthier they still have real issues to address. Colts +2
Denver Broncos -7 vs. New York Giants
I’m not ready to buy all the way into the Jaxson Dart hype just yet, but I’ve also avoided buying into the Bo Nix hype. The Giants should definitely keep things close. Giants +7
Arizona Cardinals +6.5 vs. Green Bay Packers
Green Bay annihilated the Cardinals last year, and they’re going to notch another real win sometime this year. I also can’t forget what the Cardinals did to me in our survivor league. Packers -6.5
Dallas Cowboys +2 vs. Washington Commanders
Washington just has more talent to lean on in this matchup, and while Dak has proven himself capable of bringing the Cowboys up to any team’s level, it’s hard to count on it week after week. Commanders -2
San Francisco 49ers -2 vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Fred Warner injury has to be the straw that breaks the Niners’ back, right? At some point you just run out of top-end talent to remain competitive. Falcons +2
Detroit Lions -5 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I’m just not sure why this line is so high, even though I like the Lions to win. Buccaneers +5
Seattle Seahawks -3.5 vs. Houston Texans
Too many points to give when Sam Darnold is facing a nasty defense. Texans +3.5
That's all for this week! Kick back, grab a drink, and feel free to blame me if you put money on these picks and come out behind. I won't compensate you, but maybe your significant others will send their wrath my way instead of yours.
